“After some serious sporting accidents in 2017, I was suffering from extreme neck pain which was not helped by numerous visits to physiotherapists. A solution might have been fusion of C4-5 C5-6 but I was afraid of such risky surgery. In despair I googled “pain clinic” and found the “Pain Relief Massage Clinic Gold Coast”. Keishi took lots of time to establish exactly where the pain was coming from so as to locate the origin. Careful but deep manipulation of the neck and shoulder areas over 4 visits fixed my problem.

More recently (Jan 2023) I had nerve pains shooting down my arm into hand (self inflicted injury due to too much high pressure cleaning activities) limiting day to day activities. Several ultrasounds, cortisone injection and physiotherapist visits later, no improvements were happening. Fortunately, Keishi had returned from Japan and managed to relief the nerves and thus eliminate the pain.

New patients please be aware that the suitable treatment is not always a “gentle massage” and can be bordering on painful but the results are well worth a bit of discomfort!
Keishi is an amazing professional and kind practitioner.”

“I have been suffering with chronic pain since 2016 and Dr’s always just say here is another pain pill. I was searching for pain relief when the page Pain Relief Massage Clinic came up and I thought well what do I have to loose.
I made my booking, I couldn’t wait for my appointment as my pain had just gotten worse. Well, finding this clinic was a gift from G-D. Keshi is my soft spoken and very respectful.
He explains the process and always asks if you are OK. I look so forward to my appointment because I know the relief I’m going to get. I would definitely recommend Keishi to anyone that asks for a massage clinic.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Keishi! From the very beginning, he impressed me with his thorough assessment and precise massage technique. After suffering from debilitating shoulder pain caused by repetitive strain for over a year, I couldn’t believe the relief I experienced within days of my first session with him.

Keishi’s service is incredibly effective, and I’ve been back to see him since then for other niggles. I can confidently recommend him to anyone in need of pain relief. His service is a rare gem.”

“I have just had my 2nd treatment for sciatic pain from Keishi and I’m so grateful to have found such a knowledgeable and professional therapist.
I have been a nurse for over 40 years and have suffered numerous injuries and degenerative disease in my spine and i re injured my back a few months ago and have been in constant pain since with no significant improvement.

He truly has magical hands and was able to locate the exact place where my pain is coming from and work specifically on that area and for the first time in months I find my pain has eased.

After years of treatment with many different allied health practitioners, I feel that I am finally getting somewhere.
I’m so impressed with the professionalism and helpful information he supplies to get the most out of the treatment and future healing.
I recommend Keishi and will be recommending him to all of my friends.
Thank you sincerely Keishi, I’m so grateful to you.”

“After terrible pain in my hips , back, shoulder and neck for a few years I was recommended to Keishi at Pain Relief Massage Clinic.
I started feeling major pain relief after the first session. Approximately 6 sessions later I felt like a new person.
Now go to Keishi when I feel my shoulder/neck starting to give me a little grief as I work in administration and on a computer all the time.
He is very professional and his clinic very well set up and again very professional.
I would 100 percent recommend Keishi and will continue to visit his clinic when necessary.

The second appointment offered more relief again. I’ve never had a better neck massage. For the first time in years I have hope I can live pain free. Cant recommend enough. Surely worth a try. I could have saved thousands.”

“I was feeling desperate and at my wits end with lower back pain until I met Keishi. Keishi is a master at his craft. I have had countless sessions from osteopaths, acupuncturists, and massage therapists and not one were able to solve my pain issues the way Keishi has. I was starting to worry that i would be living with pain for the rest of my life. Simple tasks became major obstacles in my day.

After my first session i noticed a 70% improvement. 90% on my second session and I look forward to the third session. Keishi has given me hope for the future. If I found him earlier I would have saved hundreds of dollars!

Thank You Keishi. My family are on their way from NSW to book in with you.”

I have scoliosis and arthritis on my neck, I have been suffering from pain in a few different areas on my body, not to mention experiencing headaches nearly on a daily basis. I have been going to a chiropractor, which helps with aligning my spine.

However, I would still feel some discomfort afterwards and between visits. Upon searching on other services to help me deal with the pain, I came across this clinic. I was a bit hesitant as I have had this pain for years.

I was very surprised to feel absolutely no pain after my first visit! My husband said that feel asleep less than 1 minute that night. I know my condition won’t go away from a one off visit.

I’m looking forward to many more regular visit to keep the pain away. I have never felt this good and pain free just from the first visit. Thank you again Keishi for your expertise and professional service. I have been sharing my experience to my family and friends and they are very happy for me and would visit you too.

“Keishi, is amazing!! I have been going to him for the past few months with pain from tennis elbow and pinched nerves which caused my fingers to go numb all day and all night causing a lot of discomfort.
Keishi has been the only person I have been able to find that has actually relieved my symptoms.
I had tried other massages, physiotherapy, and acupuncture before finding the Pain relief massage clinic and nothing seemed to help but after 3 years of terrible pain he managed to undo the pinched nerve and I haven’t had numb fingers since my first visit.
If you have any pain or discomfort I highly recommend checking him out. He honestly has magic hands and has brought me so much relief

“I needed an emergency massage for my bulging disc in my back. I would have to say this was one of the best massages I have ever had and my back felt so much better even days after I had the massage. It is super relaxing and they know what they are doing.

Very precise in the massage treatment and honestly very affordable for longer lasting effects. They also provide exercises you can do for aftercare and do a full consultation on your pain and discomfort. They take private health insurance and it’s cheaper if you pay with cash as well. I would 100% recommend visiting this place and I will definitely be going back in the future for my treatment.”

“I had been experiencing chronic shoulder and upper back pain from a combination of bad posture and the nature of my work. I’d tried other massage clinics which seemed to help initially but the pain came back days later, just as severe.

I was looking up well-reviewed massage and physio clinics on google and happened to come across Pain Relief Massage Clinic and after carefully reading through reviews (not just fluffy 5 star reviews for being ‘friendly’, ‘relaxing’ or a ‘nice vibe’ but actual people who saw an improvement in their pain) I decided to give it a try.

My pain improved significantly after the first visit but I wanted to give it some time to see if it was just temporary relief. I’m happy to say that two weeks later my pain has almost fully subsided (prior to my session with Keishi, I couldn’t sit still on a bench without upper back pain, nor could I sleep on my side due to shoulder pain). I’d been feeling quite helpless and now just very relieved I can go about daily life without pain.”

The Healing Touch of Pain Relief Massage Clinic on the Gold Coast

Real Stories from Our Clients
Pain Relief Massage Clinic, led by the skilled hands of Keishi, has become a sanctuary for those seeking relief from chronic pain and discomfort. Our clients come from various backgrounds, each with unique issues, yet they share a common story of finding effective relief and improved quality of life through our treatments. Let’s delve into their experiences to understand the purpose of their visits and the benefits they gain.

Addressing Chronic and Severe Pain
Many clients visit our clinic with long-standing pain issues that have resisted other treatments. For instance, Ms. R.G. struggled with severe lower back pain before finding relief under Keishi’s care. Her experience is echoed by Ms. J.B., who has been managing scoliosis and neck pain for years, and Ms. L.M., who battles fibromyalgia. These conditions often leave individuals in constant pain, affecting their daily activities and overall well-being.

The primary benefit these clients report is significant pain reduction, often after just a few sessions. Ms. R.G. anticipates further relief with additional treatments, while Ms. J.B. highlights improved mobility and reduced discomfort. For Ms. L.M., Keishi’s knowledge and treatment effectiveness have made her appointments an essential part of her pain management routine.

Post-Injury Recovery and Rehabilitation
Another common reason clients seek our services is recovery from injuries. Mr. B.A. had been suffering from back and neck issues for over a decade, trying various therapies without success until he found Keishi. Similarly, Mr T.S. turned to our clinic after sporting accidents and found substantial relief that had eluded him through conventional treatments like physiotherapy and cortisone injections.

Clients like Ms. S.S., a nurse with a history of spine injuries, and Mr. M.C., dealing with shoulder pain, also emphasize the thorough and professional approach Keishi takes in understanding their pain history and providing targeted treatment. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that the root causes of their pain are addressed, not just the symptoms.

Effective Relief for Acute Pain and Stress
Our clinic also serves individuals experiencing acute pain or stress-related tension. Ms. K.H., a cleaner suffering from chronic back and neck pain due to her physically demanding job, found rejuvenation in her sessions with Keishi. Similarly, Ms. M.H. and Mr. L.S. appreciate the focused attention on painful trigger points, leading to immediate and lasting relief.

Maintenance and Preventative Care
Many of our clients, having found relief from their initial complaints, continue to visit for regular maintenance. This preventative approach helps them maintain their pain-free status and prevents the recurrence of their issues. Ms. V.B., for example, who initially came for sciatic pain relief, now schedules regular sessions to keep the pain at bay.

Regular maintenance treatments also benefit clients like Ms. L.B. and Ms. T, who have found that ongoing care keeps their pain under control and enhances their overall quality of life. This proactive approach ensures long-term health and well-being, allowing clients to enjoy their daily activities without the constant shadow of pain.

A Holistic and Personalized Approach
The consistent theme across all these testimonials is the personalized and holistic approach Keishi employs. Each treatment is tailored to the individual’s specific needs, taking into account their pain history and overall health. This attention to detail and commitment to professional excellence sets Pain Relief Massage Clinic apart.

Our clients’ stories are a testament to the transformative power of skilled massage therapy. Whether dealing with chronic conditions, recovering from injuries, or seeking relief from acute pain, the care provided by Keishi at Pain Relief Massage Clinic has made a profound difference in their lives. We are honoured to be a part of their journey to better health and are committed to continuing to provide the highest standard of care to all our clients.

If you are struggling with pain and seeking effective relief, we invite you to experience the healing touch of Pain Relief Massage Clinic. Your path to a pain-free life could begin with just one session.

Hello
Just want to say how pleased I’m with your message treatment. The gentleman treat me is great! (Sorry I didn’t catch the name).

I was suffering shoulder pain before I made the first appointment with you. The hospital asked me to see a physio, I looked up on the internet and saw good reviews about your company, thought I give it a go, if doesn’t work then physio.

I went to see you on tue, and can’t not believe there is no pain after I saw you, such a relieve! You made it clear I understand half an hour is $137, and see if I’m happy to go ahead, honestly you’re worth the money cause you got the job done and no mucking around. I’m happy I had found you, being a builder there are always pains somewhere, but knowing you can relieve the pain, you’re there to keep for life.

Thank you again

Gordon

“Had my first experience at this clinic today. Very professional, organised, tidy and clean. Great communication between myself and owner/therapist. Treatment itself was also very good, I had immediate relief after a one hour session on my lower back and hip. I look forward to returning next week to see how my progress continues. Also great after treatment instructions and care. Thanks Keishi.”

After near 3 years of bad lower back, hip and leg pain I found this clinic and couldn’t be happier. When nobody and nothing could help anymore, I felt great pain relief even after the first session here. I will definitely keep up the treatments on a regular basis. Very happy!

“I was skeptical when my chiropractor asked me to find the best massage therapist to cure my painful shoulder muscle with calcification problem on its tendon. After Keishi checked the report from my radiologist, he was able to fix my painful shoulder within three sessions, only 30 minutes each.

It’s simply amazing! Everybody that I know who had the same problem had an operation and ended up spending thousands of dollars and with immobile shoulder for months until it healed. I was so lucky to find him!”

“I had really bad tension headaches and a sore neck. I regularly went to a physio for massages but the pain kept coming back. After one treatment last week, I’m happy to say that my neck is pain free, my dizziness has disappeared and I feel amazing!

I also brought in my 10 month old son to my 1st session and though he was fussy, Keishi was so professional and patient, I felt right at ease. There’s a reason Keishi has a 5 star rating from so many patients – he’s amazing!”

“I have been attending Keishi’s Pain Relief Clinic for several years now. There have been times when I was struggling with horrific muscle pain & Keishi was the only therapist to provide relief.

I am very active and walk/run with my dogs, I work out regularly with weights and I rock climb every week-end.

Keishi always asks if I have specific problems & if so he addresses that area, bringing great relief.

Keishi operates a professional clinic. He is prompt and provides a complete service.
I enjoy the fact that I can claim 60% of the cost from my health cover. This is done immediately after my treatment so no waiting for refunds & I only pay for the gap.

I have endured many so called remedial massages but not one comes anywhere near the standard Keishi provides. He asks, he listens attentively and applies treatment accordingly. Seriously, what more could you ask for?
Treat yourself to a massage with this ‘magic man’.
You will float for hours afterwards.”

“I came to Keishi with pain in my back and hip due to severe scoliosis. Not only was Keishi able to get rid of the pain but his massage has had an additional effect of freeing me from the constant fatigue. I used to go to bed very early, completely exhausted and slept for ages. That was due to my back muscles being very tired.

Thanks to Keishi’s massage, this has now been relieved and I find myself full of energy until late at night. This is just fantastic, it has given me a totally new quality of life! I am most grateful to Keishi and would recommend his massage services to everyone.”

“I am currently seeing Keishi for my sore knee which I have had for 3 years.

I had previously seen doctors (all they could do was to refer me to scans and prescribe anti-inflammatory medication) and had acupuncture treatments but did not improve much or at all.

After the first treatment, to my surprise I had a marked improvement. The treatment was, although a little painful at times (which is to be expected), by no means unpleasant or unbearable and he made sure that it was not too uncomfortable for me. He applied thorough warm-up (which was very enjoyable) before going deep into the muscles. I had no tenderness or bruising after the treatment.

The second treatment was, although he applied more pressure, much less uncomfortable. Again, I was not tender or bruised afterwards.

I feel that I am finally on the right track . Thank you for your effective treatment and professionalism!”

“I have been treated by Keishi for over 2 years now and it is my pleasure to highly recommend his service. He is always polite, and although busy can usually fit me in within a day or two. Although his premises are not ‘fancy’, they are always impeccably clean and comfortable.

His treatment is thorough and quite relaxing but, more importantly, is genuinely REMEDIAL. When I first began treatment with him I was suffering regular, significant pain due to an ongoing problem in my back that resulted in reduced mobility and almost continual headaches.

I had already tried several other practitioners with little or no improvement. Since I have been seeing Keishi I have experienced significant improvement in my condition. The painful flare ups that were previously occurring monthly, now happen at most only once or twice a year, and when they do occur they are resolved much quicker than they used to.

I now primarily attend his practice as a preventative measure. Thank you Keishi!”

How To Stay Pain-Free In Bed

Whether you are recovering from an injury, having trouble sleeping, suffering from fibromyalgia or you simply spend a lot of time in your bed, there are some aspects that you need to consider, especially if you are experiencing pain in certain areas such as the lumbar region or your neck and shoulders.

There are millions of people experiencing pain due to various factors; sometimes spending too much time in bed may eventually worsen it, especially if you have sensitive areas. The act of sleeping itself is another issue and most people are actually using incorrect positions for their body, making their condition even worse. So whether you are simply lying in bed, sleeping or spending time on your laptop, these are the things you need to consider in order to minimize your injury risk and stay pain free.

Sleeping properly – the first thing a person needs to learn is to have a correct sleeping position. This is important even if you don’t experience pain while in bed yet; incorrect sleeping positions mean poor sleep, poor posture, muscle strain, tendon pain, etc. The most important aspect is to support your back properly while sleeping.

If you are sleeping on one side, you can easily support your back by using a body pillow, or two large pillows which will be placed as follows: one between your knees and the other hugged in front of you. Make sure that the third pillow, the one that holds your head will allow your neck to rest in a comfortable position that aligns it properly with your spine. If you prefer to sleep on your back, putting a pillow under your knees will allow you to keep the strain from the lower back and help it relaxed.

Sleeping on your stomach is not really recommended for your neck and lower back and should be avoided as much as possible; however, there are ways to make sure it’s a safer way to sleep by putting a slim or no pillow under your head and possibly by having another pillow in front of you to rest your shoulder on and one under your pelvis to keep off the strain from the lower back.

If you sleep in a correct position it will help you wake up pain free in the morning by allowing your aching muscles to relax. And since we’re talking about sleep, having a good mattress is also something you need to take into consideration. There are no good mattresses or bad ones so it really depends on how you feel when you use it, some people prefer firm mattresses while others prefer soft ones.

It’s always a good idea to have a heat pack next to you if you experience pain during the night; heat will help you reduce pain and it’s a good way to alleviate whatever pains you have before going to sleep. Another thing that helps is to have a hot shower before going to bed.

If you are bound to your bed due to an injury or illness, it can put a lot of stress on your back and joints, causes loss of muscle mass, muscle pain, and people are even more prone to developing blood clots. A few good ways to stay pain free is to change your position frequently as much as possible and make sure that the pillows you are using are helping your body sleep more comfortably.

People who are completely immobilized due to injury should have someone come and massage their unaffected areas to help with the circulation as well as the stiffness and pain that often occur when being in the same position for hours. As noted earlier, warm compresses, as well as ice compresses will also help with pain. Don’t forget to ask for help when changing positions and use multiple foam pillows to keep your legs elevated or keep your neck in a comfortable position.

If you are not bed ridden but experience pain whenever you go to sleep, getting a full body massage a few hours before going to bed might help you relax and alleviate muscle pain. Another way to alleviate pain is to do some stretching as well as some light exercise just before going to bed as it will also help you sleep better. Some people also find taking a short walk just before going to bed a good way to relax and studies show that walking helps with back pain due to muscle injury more than bed rest does.

This might work just as good or even better than taking pain medication before sleeping, but if you still feel a bit sore, you should take some over the counter anti-inflammatory pills before going to sleep for an uninterrupted rest.

If you would like to get rid of the pain and aches you always suffer when you get up in the morning, visit www.remedialmassage-goldcoast.com.au and book an appointment. Pain relief in the form of remedial massage, sports massage and deep tissue massage on the Gold Coast is just a phone call away.

Minimize Pain And Discomfort While Driving

At the Pain Relief Massage Clinic on the Gold Coast, some of our regular clients are truck drivers, bus drivers or even airplane pilots. They are stuck in the driver’s seats for hours and it’s almost impossible to stay pain free or discomfort-free.

People who drive for extended periods of times, such as professional drivers, know how painful it can become if done excessively. They often have problems most commonly with their lower back, shoulders or neck, but other problems that may occur are headaches, foot cramps or swelling of the legs. These symptoms as well as any injury that occurs due to spending too much time driving is called a Repetitive Drive Injury.

You don’t need to be a professional driver to get such a discomfort as it can happen to anyone who doesn’t drive as much, but who is simply going on a road trip and will be spending many hours driving. A good idea would be to have someone with you who can take up part of the driving and save you a lot of pain, but that’s not always possible and professional drivers don’t have that option.

Fortunately, there are several tips that can help you minimize the discomfort or stay pain free while driving and avoid any strains and injuries that might occur during this activity, even when performed for hours.

It is normal to feel pain and discomfort when you are stuck in the same position for a long amount of time, and sometimes, without realizing, we go for much too long before we actually stop to stretch our body. This is why, if you are planning a long drive, you should use your alarm clock and pause every hour for a quick stretch.

If you are worried you might not make it on time to your destination, note that this stretch should take no more than a few minutes, but it’s an important step to stay pain free and avoid putting a strain on your body. Even before you start your driving, you should do some stretching exercises to help prevent any back or shoulder pain. This is very important since driving is associated with bad circulation and it might help you prevent more serious issues that may occur in the future.

Another common problem that is associated with driving injuries is bad posture. The majority of people have trouble maintaining good posture while driving which causes a multitude of problems later in life and may be the main reason why they experience pain while doing this activity. Some keep their shoulders forward, others keep their head too forward or their back slumped, all postures that put a tremendous strain on your lumbar and shoulder area.

But before working on your posture, make sure that your car seat has been set correctly so that you can sit comfortably, with your back straight and enough room to keep your arms on the wheel in a comfortable position, you shouldn’t feel the need to move your body forward as it will increase the stress on your back and neck. Lower back support is a must. A rolled towel placed between your lower back and the back rest works very well.

How to avoid stiffness – while driving, you can also try to change your position a bit or move a little from time to time to make sure that there isn’t too much pressure on the same point. For example, putting too much pressure on your lower back will cause pain which can be quite severe and even debilitating for some.

Another aspect that you need to evaluate is also your driving style; good posture and driving style shouldn’t cause pain, even during prolonged hours, so note the areas where you feel stiff or where you feel pain and consciously adjust your position while driving in order to re-learn to have a better posture.

Professional drivers might also benefit to do some changes in their daily life if they develop certain pains due to their occupation. There are many issues related to excessive driving that can be easily prevented with a few changes. Some great ways to prevent pain, circulation problems, stiffness and repetitive strain injuries as well as to improve overall health is to start having a regular exercise routine, get enough sleep every night on a comfortable bed, stretch more or visit a massage therapist regularly. These activities will not just improve your posture but also your life quality as well as preventing any issues while driving.

If you tend to suffer from any kind of pain, stiffness or ache while driving on the Gold Coast, click and visit www.remedialmassage-goldcoast.com.au and have a treatment at least once a month. Regular clinical massage on the Gold Coast will keep you going.

Consequence Of Seeing Undertrained Massage Therapists On The Gold Coast

Massage therapy on the Gold Coast seems to be a risk-free approach to symptoms of pain and stiffness, but sometimes the level of experience and knowledge of your massage therapist might complicate things. There are numerous cases of people going for a quick massage to relax only to end up later in the hospital with various health issues due to an undertrained therapist. Although serious complications are indeed rare, they do exist and sometimes they can leave permanent damage, such as paralysis.

One of the most common consequences of going to unqualified massage therapists on the Gold Coast is worsening the injuries you already have or simply causing new injuries. For example, there have been cases where a patient with a sprained ankle ended up going to the emergency room after being massaged by someone who was under-qualified and didn’t realize the sprained ankle shouldn’t have been massaged so vigorously.

There was another case of a man who collapsed after being massaged for a couple of hours which was due to blood poisoning from a detoxifying massage that lasted too long.  A qualified therapist would have known how long the massage should last, depending on the man’s age and medical status and would have asked for feedback during the course of the massage.

Another common injury that is often seen when people go to unqualified massage therapists on the Gold Coast is a neck injury; a neck injury can cause various adverse effects, from numbness to extreme pain and soreness. Although some deep tissue massage techniques may cause a bit of soreness afterwards, too much soreness with inflammation should be a concern.

There have been cases of people who suffered from compression of the upper cervical spinal cord which lead to an emergency trip to the hospital. If you start experiencing nausea during your massage, you should stop immediately and check if it’s due to a spinal cord injury.

Of course, this would not usually happen with a qualified massage therapist on the Gold Coast who knows how and where to put pressure in order to provide safe therapy. Cases in medical journals reported people getting a stroke from massaging their neck for too long and too deep.

Another alarming case was with a man who had his ribs cracked due to an unqualified massage therapist who was massaging his back. If you are wondering how that might happen, it is usually due to heavy pressure put by the massage therapist in the rib region and by pressing the ribcage on the massage table. Of course, the rib cracking is probably one of the most severe things that can happen.

A very common injury that is caused by an underqualified massage therapist who puts pressure in the rib area is the sprain of the costochondral joints. This isn’t as severe as a cracked rib but it can take weeks to heal and the patient will usually experience moderate to severe pain, especially at night, while in bed whenever they are lying on their stomach.

Broken bones and other short term injuries eventually heal, but what would be more frightening than paralyzing just because you chose the wrong massage therapist on the Gold Coast? A man from China was the unlucky patient of a massage therapist with very little experience. While practicing her skills on the man he collapsed and seemed to have trouble breathing.

At the hospital, doctors noticed that he was unconscious and was unable to breathe on his own. X-rays showed that somehow the massage therapist had managed to displace the first and second vertebrae of his neck, which left the man paralyzed.

A similar experience happened to a woman who received a neck massage at her workplace. The woman suffered a stroke after the massage, which ultimately left her paralyzed from the neck down. She considered the massage to be very rough and felt sore and dizzy afterwards, only to be found collapsed in her home a few days later.

This is why health professionals urge those seeking massage to make sure that they fully understand their medical history and they do enough research to find a good Gold Coast massage therapist beforehand. Those suffering from chronic illnesses should be especially careful. Even more, people seeking to relax with a massage or planning to follow a course of treatment that includes regular massage sessions should ask their medical practitioner whether they are a good candidate for this procedure.

Your medical doctor is the only one who can give an accurate opinion based on your medical history. Even then, there’s still a risk that you might end up in the hands of someone inexperienced. There are many unqualified massage therapists on the Gold Coast who leave permanent damage even if you are completely healthy, so researching and dealing with someone with years of experience and great reviews is always the key to a safe massage therapy session.

If you would like to see qualified well-trained massage therapists on the Gold Coast, click and visit www.remedialmassage-goldcoast.com.au and see what you think. This is a massage clinic for pain relief purpose and even medical doctors on the Gold Coast come regularly as patients.

Best Lower Back Pain Relief Device When You Are Flying

I have no medical issue with my lower back. No osteoarthritis. No bulging disc. No nothing. But I always suffer from bad lower back pain whenever I have to sit on a badly shaped seat. It’s horrible. Especially when you are flying overseas for hours.

A humble-looking inflatable beach ball just like this works like a magic when you are flying or sitting inside a car. It costs between $1 and $3 at toy shops. Seats in the airplane and cars are usually badly designed and you can’t maintain natural curve of the spine without some kind of support.

A ball Inflated with two breaths and a full size ball

A ball Inflated with two breaths and a full size ball

The beauty of a beach ball is that you can make it very small when carrying it and when it’s used properly it fits any shape of lower back and the seat you are sitting on. All you have to do when you want to use is inflate it with two or three breaths and place it between your lower back and the back rest or your seat. I wouldn’t fly anywhere or drive anywhere without it.

I used to use a rolled towel when I was flying but it’s just too bulky and heavy to carry with me all the way to the destination. Then I decided not to take the rolled towel and instead tried an empty water bottle after drinking it. It worked ok when flying. But when I got to the destination, as soon as I started driving a rental car, it failed. Just because of the badly designed car seat, my lower back ache was so bad I couldn’t keep sitting in the car for more than a few minutes.

The beach ball works wonder both when flying and driving.

What a technologically advanced device!?

Pain Issue Related To Rectus Femoris Muscle And Sports Massage Therapy

Our clinic called Pain Relief Massage Clinic on the Gold Coast often receives customers who have huge muscles in their thighs such as hamstrings and quadriceps. Bodybuilders tend to have what I call overgrown muscles in their legs but rectus femoris muscle is easy to palpate and treat regardless of its size. Regular sports massage is essential for bodybuilders and athletes on the Gold Coast unless they don’t mind being accident-prone.

The rectus femoris muscle is one of the quadriceps muscles located in the front part of the thigh, linked to the hip area and the knee joint. All parts of the quadriceps are attached to the knee cap via the quadriceps tendon. The other three parts that make the quadriceps muscle are called vastus lateralis, vastus medialis and vastus intermedius. The rectus femoris muscle is located exactly in the front on the thigh, right in the middle and its function is to help extend the knee as well as flexing the thigh.

One particular characteristic of the rectus femoris muscle is the fact that it is the only muscle used in hip flexing so injuries to the rectus femoris are also called hip flexor strains. Due to its location, rectus femoris injury occurs in athletes who use force movement such as kicking a ball or sprinting, so football and soccer players are statistically more prone to injury either from overuse or a force movement.

Explosive movements, lack of warming up before exercise or an abnormal posture of the knee while engaging the rectus femoris muscle are the most common causes of injury. People who feel pain and continue heavy exercising or activity involving this muscle risk deep tears and possibly the complete tear of the muscle so caution is advised, especially with athletes and people who work out regularly.

The first sign of injury and inflammation is a sharp pain in the groin area during the use of the rectus femoris as well as pain during knee raises and kicking. A person with a rectus femoris injury will usually feel like something is blocking their movement and may experience a high level of pain when trying to force their movement past their stiffness. In most cases, mild to severe pain as well as weakness is experienced at first.

If a person experiences severe pain and impairment, especially if they are a younger person such as an adolescent who hasn’t had fully developed bones and muscles yet, a medical opinion is needed to make sure that no bones have been broken. Sometimes, if the muscle has been torn completely, surgery is needed, but in most of the time, when tears are not as severe, bed rest and over the counter treatment along with some massage therapies will lead to complete healing.

Some people may experience bruising and tenderness when pressing the area. Immediate care should include the immobilization of the knee in 120° of flexion and ice application; this is extremely important because if the leg is held into a resting flat position the muscle will form scar tissue that will impede flexing the knee properly and will cause a delayed healing process and even more pain during the first phases.

The treatment for a rectus femoris injury is usually simple and it includes rest and applying ice on the area while there is swelling and pain. Ice should be applied for the first 48 hours, once every 20 minutes to an hour; this helps greatly reduce the inflammation and pain. Patients can also take over the counter anti-inflammation medication to help with the swelling and pain. As the swelling subsides and the pain disappears it is important to restart your normal day to day activities as much as you can.

Light exercise, such as using a stationary bike as well as long walks can help a person with an injury recover faster. If the person is an athlete, they will need to follow the guidance of their doctor and sports massage therapist to see what type of rehabilitation workout would be appropriate at their respective healing phase. Recovering from a rectus femoris muscle injury will usually take a couple of weeks, if the tear is more superficial it could take up to a week to heal but if it’s a severe tear it will sometimes take a couple of months to a year, which can make things difficult for athletes who have to participate in competitions.

If the patient is not an athlete, they can do stretching at home by slowly flexing their knee for a few times a day until it is comfortable to increase the difficulty.

Other natural methods can help with the treatment of a muscle injury as well as making sure that you prevent any other injury. Practicing yoga, stretching regularly or regular sports massage sessions between workouts can do wonders in making sure that your muscles are healthy and strong, as well as help you relax and rest properly.

Sports massage therapy is extremely important and can be of great help for athletes who are going through an intensive workout regimen to help their muscles cope with the amount of exercise needed. Those recovering after an injury will notice that sports massage therapy can help eliminating scar tissue as well as managing any pain that they might still experience.

Remedial Massage For Pain Symptom Related To Triceps Brachii Muscles

The triceps brachii muscle is located in the upper arm and goes along the humerus between the elbow and the shoulder. The medial head of the triceps is one of the main elbow extensors while the long head adducts and extends the arm. It also serves to stabilize the shoulder which is one of the more sensitive joints, prone to injury so the triceps brachii has an important role in keeping it stable and healthy.

It’s very easy to access and treat the triceps brachii muscle as no other muscle is in the way when a remedial massage therapist is targeting this muscle. Even firm squeezing motions are possible and it’s easy to loosen this muscle.

This muscle is usually worked through triceps extensions with weights or cable push downs as well as push ups or bench presses. A lot of care is needed by those who are just starting to work out or athletes who are pushing themselves too hard, because an injury can cause more than just a great deal of pain but also numbness and difficulty performing simple day to day tasks.

It is very common to injure the triceps tendon or the muscle itself. A strain usually occurs in the area where the triceps muscle and the tendon connect, either at the elbow joint or the shoulder joint but it can occur anywhere on the muscle. Strains can be classified according to their severity, from light sprains that only involve over stretching of the muscle with minimal inflammation or pain to more severe strains that may involve the complete separation of the muscle fibres and the loss of the arm’s function.

The most common cause is overuse or a sudden use of the muscle that may twist it or require more force than the muscle is able to provide. Some people might not even notice that they have an injured tendon because they might have micro tears in their tendon. If no special care is taken they can lead to partial tears or a complete rupture of the tendon. A completely ruptured tendon or partial tear can also be due to overuse or sudden force.

It is very important to act quickly in the first few hours of the strain or severe injury by applying a cold compress over the affected area. This will help reduce inflammation and swelling. After the swelling goes down you can try applying warm packs to reduce pain. Using anti-inflammatory drugs can help you relieve pain as well as reduce inflammation and swelling in the affected area.

Treatment for severe strain and injuries can include a remedial massage therapy to help with recovery as well as surgery when the ruptured muscle has been disconnected from the bone so if you suspect something severe has happened you should seek medical advice immediately.

Patients who are recovering from the triceps brachii muscle injury should do gentle elbow movements to avoid experiencing stiffness and strengthen their muscle. A compression bandage is also helpful as it supports the muscle and the joints so that it can heal properly. Obviously having a regular remedial massage is the best way to keep the muscle loosened and healthy.

The most common symptom after the injury has taken place is pain, followed by tenderness, inflammation and, eventually, a bruise on the exact location that was injured. Some people might also experience a popping sensation when they injure themselves and afterwards the inability to extend their shoulder or their elbow, depending on where the injury is located. One of the most concerning symptom for some is a sound when they move their hand.

Unfortunately injuries of the triceps brachii muscle can take a long time to heal and people might spend up to 12 months to recover properly. It is recommended to do some light exercise and a short session of massage therapy during this period.

Although injury of the triceps brachii is common, there are some people who are more at risk. Athletes who use their shoulders and hands such as tennis players, basketball players, etc. will eventually injure themselves from overuse. Another group that is often affected by triceps brachii muscle injuries is bodybuilders who lift weights or people who incorporate push ups in their training regimen.

The use of steroids and even corticosteroids injections will make people more prone to get injured. The last group is comprised of those with overall poor strength and flexibility in that area, as well as those who haven’t recovered properly from an injury.

There are some precautions you can take to make sure that you don’t injure yourself. If you have a regular exercise regimen or you are an athlete, you should warm up and stretch beforehand. Allowing your body to adapt to a new exercise regimen by resting properly between workouts will also decrease your chance of injury. Another important aspect is to learn how to use the correct techniques and posture while working out. Maintaining a good physical fitness can also help you avoid injuries.

Deep Tissue Massage For Pain And Neurovascular Symptoms From Pectoralis Minor Muscle

At the Pain Relief Massage Clinic here on the Gold Coast, sometimes we need to treat this small muscle called pectoralis minor. Clients with pectoralis minor problem tend to show the symptom of pain in front of the shoulder. If this muscle is shortened, tightened and contracted, it can also cause neurovascular symptoms by entrapment of the neurovascular bundle to the arm.

As this muscle is relatively small and located underneath the thick pectoralis major muscle, it’s often hard to find and treat it. It is easy to find and treat it if the client is very skinny. But if the client’s pectoralis major is very thick and tight, or if the client’s muscles are covered by thick fat layer, it is almost impossible to locate this small muscle. We just have to do our best.

We would like people to know that even what we call Deep tissue massage is unable to access and treat deep tissue if muscles are covered and protected by thick different type of tissue.

The pectoralis minor is found underneath the larger pectoralis major. The muscle has a flat shape and is quite thin, particularly when compared to the other pectoral muscle and is one of the smallest muscles in the chest.

The muscle is connected to the third, fourth and fifth ribs, where it also originates, and stretches to the hook-like coracoid process of the scapula, also known as the shoulder blade. The muscle is identical on both sides of the ribcage and in both cases the origins of the pectoralis minor are the lateral costal cartilages.

The pectoralis minor has the function of pulling the scapula (shoulder blade) forward, downward and inward. Stabilizing the scapula can be achieved by depression of the shoulder by this small muscle. This muscle also works as an accessory respiratory muscle during forced inspiration. During strong inhalation by upper chest, the pectoralis minor is activated.

The muscle’s actions can be quite varied, depending on the situation and how other elements and muscles in the body are functioning. For example, when contracted, the pectoralis minor muscle can pull the shoulder blade down and forward on the ribcage. In case the shoulder is held rigid by other muscles groups (like the levator scapula or trapezius muscle for example) contracting the pectoralis minor muscle will lead to an elevation of the ribcage.

Tension in this complex muscle can have a series of complications and consequences. For example, the winging of the scapula can occur when there is chronic tension in the pectoralis muscle. The winging of the scapula means that the medial border and inferior angle of the scapula are lifted away from the ribs and it is easily visible on the outer shape of the body.

Another repercussion of pectoralis minor pressure can be neurogenic pain and even numbness in the hand, fingers and forearm. This happens when the tension in the muscle compresses the nerves of the brachial plexus which are found in the general shoulder area. Tension in this muscle can also affect the blood flow to the forearm. This happens due to the compression of the axillary artery. Trigger points in the pectoralis minor muscle can also lead to thoracic outlet syndrome.

When it comes to trigger points in the pectoralis minor muscle, there is just one major one, however, if activity is intense in said trigger point, a second one can appear in the area where the muscle attaches to the coracoid process. The second trigger point can easily be resolved once the first trigger point is treated and no longer produces discomfort.

Pain in the pectoralis minor muscle is generally felt in the anterior shoulder part and in some rarer occasions it can be felt across the chest. It is also quite often that pectoralis minor muscle pain can radiate to the upper part of the arm, the elbow, the forearm, the palm as well as the pinkie, ring and middle fingers.

The way the pain radiates from the pectoralis minor muscle is similar to the way trigger points cause pain in the clavicular division of the pectoralis major.

Regarding the symptoms of a trigger point in the pectoralis minor muscle, the following may be the most frequent:

Pain felt in the shoulder region which often radiates to the chest while also radiating down the arm towards the pinkie, ring and middle fingers. Pain felt in the muscle, which can also often be confused with heart pain due to its proximity.

Another symptom for trigger points in the pectoralis minor is pain on the inside of the elbow that is similar to golfer’s elbow. The hurt arm can also make it hard to reach forward and upward, as well as give out a weak pulse at the wrist.

Pain Relief For Biceps Femoris Muscle Issues

At the Pain Relief Massage Clinic here on the Gold Coast, sometimes customers bring their leg issues. Runners and athletes on the Gold Coast tend to complain of their leg soreness and sharp pain regularly. The cause of the symptom is often related to one of the hamstring muscles called biceps femoris.

Although pain relief for this muscle by what we call remedial massage, sports massage and deep tissue massage is not too difficult, regular maintenance massage before you notice any symptom is a must for runners and athletes on the Gold Coast.

The biceps femoris muscle is one of the hamstring muscles and has a long head and short head. The long head crosses both the hip and knee joints whereas the short head crosses only the knee joint. Proximally the long head originates from the ischial tuberosity.

Distally it is joined by the short head and they form a tendon that inserts in the head of fibula. The short head originates proximally from the lateral lip of the linea aspera. The short head distally joins the long head in a common tendon and inserts into the head of the fibula.

The basic function on the biceps femoris muscle is the extension of the thigh at the hip joint. A major function of the hamstring muscles including the biceps femoris is to restrain the tendency toward hip flexion during walking. The biceps femoris muscle is also essential when it comes to running as it helps with acceleration and deceleration.

Pain associated with the biceps femoris muscle is usually caused by an injury; the muscle can be easily injured from overuse or too much stretching during common day to day activities but also through an exercise regimen that was executed too much or incorrectly. Sometimes a severe injury can even lead to torn muscles and ligaments so it is important to seek medical advice if you experience a great deal of pain and numbness.

Repeated injuries in this area can even cause a chronic inflammation of the tendons and the sheath, called tendonopathy. Unfortunately, injuries sustained in this area can take a long time to heal, from one to six months with continuous pain even while resting.

There are some risk factors that may play an important role in the injury of the biceps femoris muscle. When it comes to athletes there may be an imbalance between the strength of the hamstrings and the quadriceps which can cause a strain. Another important factor is warming up before exercise as a muscle that hasn’t been properly stretched is at the highest risk especially if the exercise regimen is severe.

Fatigue is another common risk that athletes take every time they overuse their muscles; resting properly should be part of their regimen and can prevent many common injuries. Poor exercise techniques as well as bad posture can also contribute to developing a strained muscle so before starting exercising people should ask a professional for guidance to avoid such injuries.

People with trigger points in the biceps femoris often experience pain when walking. They tend to limp as loading this muscle when walking can be very painful. When sitting, people with those contraction knots usually experience pain at the back of the knee due to the pressure on the muscle contraction knots.

Other symptoms and discomfort that originates from biceps femoris muscle are usually related to everyday activities as people will have trouble performing simple exercises due to pain or stiffness. Activities as simple as walking, climbing the stairs or even bending over are made almost impossible to perform when the biceps femoris muscle is injured.

Tendonopathy is widespread within athletes and people who do regular exercise and it’s associated with micro tearing of the muscle.

Immediate treatment for injuries of biceps femoris include: compression in the area, avoiding any effort for a couple of days and immediately applying ice on the affected area. Other ways to alleviate symptoms are: resting the affected leg elevated, avoiding sitting, light exercise after a couple of days when the pain has subsided, light stretching, etc.

People who get any type of muscle injury should always wear an elastic support to reduce swelling and support the joint at least until a few days pass and the injury is somewhat healed.

Medication for tendinopathy usually consists of anti-inflammatory pills such as ibuprofen to deal with the pain but also with the swelling and inflammation. Sometimes ultrasound and laser treatment, as well as physical exercise are suitable ways to heal faster; the most important thing a person needs to do is make sure that they rest properly and do light exercise to maintain their flexibility and muscle mass during recovery.

It is important to remember that people who had prior injuries of the biceps femoris muscle have an increased chance to injure the area again and they are prone to severe muscle tears and ligament rupture so they should take extra attention if they are planning to exercise or overuse this particular area of their body. It is also important to make sure that the area is completely healed after an injury and ask for professional help if the pain doesn’t go away within a week.

Getting back into your routine should be done slowly with special attention to exercise and movement that use the hamstring muscle in order to avoid a more serious tear while the muscle is healing. Special precautions should be taken by elderly people, pregnant women or overweight people as they are more susceptible to injuries.

Polymyalgia Relief By Professional Massage Therapy

At the Pain Relief Massage Clinic on the Gold Coast, we sometimes come across the diagnosis called Polymyalgia rheumatic. It is an illness that causes pain in the joints and muscles of the lower back as well as other parts of the body such as thighs, hips or neck.

The reason for the pain is due to the lining surrounding the joins and tendons as it becomes inflamed and may cause a great deal of discomfort. There doesn’t seem to be a clear cause for this particular illness, but genetics can play a huge role and it seems that some environmental viruses can also be blamed.

We believe symptoms of Polymyalgia can be helped by a natural manual treatment called remedial massage therapy. Remedial massage therapy is the treatment of soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in pain and discomfort management, injury management including rehabilitation.

The main aim of remedial massage is to remove or reduce pain, ache, stiffness and to normalize range of motion of joints. Remedial massage is completely different from ‘feel good” relaxation massage on the Gold Coast.

The disease polymyalgia usually affects people who are older than 55 but it can also occur in younger people sometimes and symptoms can get worse as time passes, especially if people don’t take special care or follow a medical treatment for the symptoms.

Some of the most frequent symptoms when it comes to polymyalgia are usually pain and stiffness in the shoulders, upper arms, neck, lower back, thighs and hips. In some rare cases this illness can be associated with giant cell arteritis, a condition where blood vessels are inflamed and it can lead to stroke. The first symptoms people usually experience are pain in the shoulders and upper body.

However, stiffness can also occur, especially in the morning or after being at your desk or simply being inactive for a long time. These usually lead to a limited range of motions in the affected areas as well as other symptoms that at first glance seem unrelated, such as fatigue, a loss of appetite, depression, a mild fever, etc.

This illness can last for a very long time, especially if left untreated. Usually treatment is necessary for at least six months in order to see positive results and sometimes it’s even prolonged to one or two years. Treatment usually consists in anti-inflammatory drugs but it’s rarely helpful if the symptoms are severe. Corticosteroids and vitamins are also prescribed as well. For some people corticosteroids can have severe side effects.

There are also other treatments that are more natural such as physiotherapy and remedial massage therapy as they can be a great help for managing pain caused by polymyalgia symptoms. Besides pain, one of the main problems people with polymyalgia can expect to develop is insomnia; sometimes a bad flare up of pain may cause lack of sleep as well as anxiety. This is where remedial massage therapy can play a huge role, as the patient is able to relax and also alleviate the constant pain they are experiencing.

Limited activity and stiffness can disrupt normal day to day activities, especially for people who are used to doing physical labour. Remedial massage therapy can play a special role into allowing people a normal life while healing. Remedial massage therapy can help with regaining strength and reduce stiffness almost instantly, not to mention the fact that it can be part of a healthy lifestyle that those with polymyalgia can adopt to better manage their symptoms.

Another benefit of having remedial massage therapy when you are suffering from polymyalgia is reducing fatigue, which in some cases can be severe. People may also experience muscle burning and muscle spasm, which can become quite a nuisance while it takes for the body to completely heal.

Remedial massage therapy is also natural and can be used as a treatment on its own by those who don’t want to take medication, or, along with medication prescribed by your doctor for a complete recovery and a better management of symptoms. Patients should get a clear diagnosis from a physician before starting any treatment on their own, especially when it comes to inflammatory diseases such as polymyalgia.

Even after the illness is gone, some people might still feel a sensibility in their joints and a certain level of stiffness. Remedial massage is especially helpful for areas that are particularly stiff and tight. Through this massage therapy people can restore their flexibility and that dull sensation of pain that usually accompanies stiffness.

This clinical massage therapy will also relax people who are experiencing depression or anxiety as well as improve circulation which will help a great deal in the healing process. Circulatory massage is a great way to not just alleviate pain but also improve the quality of sleep and decrease stress.

One of the great benefits of opting for remedial massage therapy to manage polymyalgia symptoms is the fact that you can find some relief in the first session and even the complete disappearance of pain and other associated symptoms in just a few sessions. This is especially important as it takes a lot of time for the body to heal after this disease and some patients have trouble with the symptoms that usually disrupt their normal activities.

If you are looking for a great pain relief for your devastating polymyalgia, please click and visit www.remedialmassage-goldcoast.com.au as the first step. The Pain Relief Massage Clinic offers remedial massage on the Gold Coast and it will be a great natural remedy for your painful condition.

Pain Relief Massage On The Gold Coast Works For Shoulder Pain That Originates From Teres Minor Muscles

The teres minor muscle is basically a tiny skinny muscle that attached to your shoulder blade. Unless you know human anatomy very well, you don’t even notice this muscle exists there. But this tiny muscles plays a significant role in the shoulder motions and it’s a very important muscle that pain relief massage therapists have to pay attention to.

When you suffer from a constant shoulder ache due to regular physical hard work, you tend to do self-massaging the muscles above your shoulder blade. But often the aching problem simply comes from this tiny skinny muscle that’s hiding on your shoulder blade.

How do you know this muscle is the culprit? Learn human anatomy, palpate the muscle and poke it! Then see how you feel. If it’s too hard to do it yourself, you can always visit Pain Relief Massage Clinic on the Gold Coast and see the professional.

The teres minor is one of the rotator cuff muscles. It has a narrow elongated shape and is a key in the way we move our arms and upper body. The teres minor muscle attaches medially to the upper dorsal surface of the scapula near its axillary border and to the aponeuroses that separate this muscle from the infraspinatus muscle and teres major muscle. It attaches laterally to the low impression on the greater tubercle of the humerus bone.

The fibers of the teres minor have an oblique and upward laterally direction with the upper fibers ending in a tendon which is inserted in one of the lowest of the impressions on the greater tubercle of the humerus. The lower fibers of the muscle are inserted into the humerus, just below the above mentioned impressions.

The tendon of the teres minor is united with the posterior part of the capsule of the shoulder joint. When it comes to innervation, the teres minor muscle is innervated by a posterior branch of the axillary nerve at the point where a pseudoganglion is present. The pseudoganglion has no nerve cells, however it has nerve fibers with damage to these fibers being quite painful and complex to treat. Sometimes, the teres minor muscle’s fibers can be fused with the infraspinatus although it is very rare.

The teres minor, along with the infraspinatus, is part of the rotator cuff as they are both attached to the head of the humerus. One of their main roles is to keep the humeral head in the glenoid cavity of the scapula. Other roles include the lateral rotation of the humerus (with the help of the posterior deltoid) as well as other complex movements like transverse abduction, transverse extension and simple extension.

The teres minor muscle can sustain injuries in numerous ways, from atrophy to injury derived from exercising. Problems of this muscle are often times compared to bursitis in the shoulder. As the teres minor forms the rotator cuff along with the infraspinatus, supraspinatus and subscapularis, people who have experienced problems with the above mentioned muscle groups can also have problems with the teres minor.

The most common group of people who experience teres minor muscle problems (although not exclusively) are players of hand based sports (basketball, handball, volleyball, baseball etc.), swimmers and rock climbers.

Pain from the teres minor muscle is often times felt quite intensely in the shoulder, similarly to bursitis. It can also cause tingling in some fingers. When trigger points develop in this muscle, they can cause pain right at the spot where they have appeared or radiate said pain to other parts of the body. A teres minor muscle with trigger points will mostly show signs of pain on the side of the shoulder. Pain can also be felt on the backside part of the arm when the teres minor is injured or under stress.

When it comes to the causes of pain and over-solicitation of the teres minor, most specialists will agree that they are mostly the same as the ones that cause pain in the infraspinatus muscle. In fact, the teres minor is rarely injured or afflicted alone, more often being hurt along with other muscles of the shoulder which have a similar function.

One of the most often met ways of injuring the teres minor muscle is by throwing objects, particularly in the case of athletes. This is mostly due to the repetitive motion of extending and rotating the arm outward. Tears can also occur due to falling on the outstretched hand or while making repetitive sudden thrusts. These tears often take a long time to become chronic and mostly occur near the tendon due to it rubbing against the bone.

When pain or trigger points are present in the teres minor, certain movements can be affected. These movements are often times the same movements affected when infraspinatus pain or injury occurs. The most often met types of movements that are affected by this muscle’s injury are the ones where you rotate your shoulder outwards or where you reach backwards.

Atrophy is also a problem that can affect the teres minor muscle. It is often derived from more serious injury to the rotator cuff but it can also affect the muscle on its own.

People who experience problems with the teres minor muscle will most often complain of shoulder pain, particularly posterior shoulder pain and will rarely associate this problem with restricted motion.

Differentiating between an infraspinatus injury and a teres minor injury can sometimes be quite difficult, particularly as the latter is smaller and weaker. As both muscles basically have the same function, identifying any injury can be hard but not impossible.

One easy albeit painful way of identifying a teres minor injury is by doing a handstand. As balancing requires all parts of the shoulder the teres minor will also be involved. If balancing from side to side appears to be particularly painful or hard, then it is possible that the teres minor muscle may have some sort of injury or related problems.

Pain relief massage therapists and some but not all so-called remedial massage therapists, sports massage therapists and deep tissue massage therapists on the Gold Coast have good anatomy knowledge to find out what’s wrong and relieve your ache and pain.

If you are interested in knowing what’s happening with your teres minor muscles and seeing a pain relief massage therapists or Gold Coast remedial massage therapist, click and visit www.remedialmassage-goldcoast.com.au and see what’s in it for you.

Treating Dysfunctional Deltoid Muscles With A Sports Massage On The Gold Coast

Men on the Gold Coast tend to have big Deltoid muscles. They do weight lifting regularly at the gym and it looks like they are trying to make those muscles grow bigger and bigger. But you have to be very careful when you do weight lifting regularly.

In general, the more you do weight lifting, the stronger the muscles become. At the same time, the more you do weight lifting, the stiffer the muscles become. Often those muscles eventually come to the point where they cannot be loosened by manual treatments any more and develop constant ache and soreness unless you have a regular sports massage.

The deltoid muscle is one of the most important muscles in the body when it comes to arm function, as well as quite a painful muscle to have injured, as anyone who has ever been to the gym can certainly confirm.

The deltoid is the muscle that gives the shoulder its rounded shape. The muscle is formed from at least seven groups which are independently operated by the central nervous system. The deltoid is made up of three groups of fibers which are also called “heads.”

The first group of fibers is called the anterior fibers or the clavicular fibers. They arise from a big part of the anterior border of the clavicle as well as the upper part of the lateral third of the clavicle. The anterior part of this fiber’ group as well as its tendons originate next to the lateral fibers of the pectoralis major muscle.

The fibers of the pectoralis major muscle and those of the deltoid are closely related with only a small space through which the cephalic vein passes stopping the two from being one continuous muscle. The anterior deltoid fibers are also called the front delts.

The second fibrous group is referred to as the lateral fibers or in some cases as the acromial fibers. Other names for this muscle group include middle deltoids, side deltoids or outer deltoids. These strains of fibers come from the superior surface of the acromion process of the scapula.

The third group of fibers is called the posterior fibers also known as the spinal fibers. They are also sometimes referred to as the posterior deltoids or the rear deltoids. These fibers arise from the lower lip of the posterior border of the spine of the scapula.

This complex muscle structure all leads to the point of insertion in the deltoid tuberosity on the middle lateral aspect of the shaft of the humerus. From the three fibrous groups the middle fibers pass vertically, the anterior fibers pass obliquely and backward and laterally while the posterior pass obliquely forward and laterally.

The insertion itself is divided into two, sometimes three areas which often times correspond to the muscle’s origin. The insertion of the deltoid fibers has an arch shape and also has strong fascial connections, both anterior as well as posterior. The deltoid fascia is also connected to the medial and lateral intermuscular septa as well as the brachial fascia.

The deltoid muscle gets its blood via the posterior circumflex humeral artery as well as the deltoid part of the thoracoacromial artery which is a branch of the axillary artery. As far as nerves are concerned the deltoid muscle is innervated by the axillary nerve which comes from the anterior rami of the cervical nerves C5 and C6.

When it comes to problems that may arise with this particular muscle group, tears, atrophy and enthesopathy are amongst the most severe. Unlike a lot of muscles in the human body, deltoid tears are quite rare, often appearing after severe injury or dislocation.

For atrophy, the causes can be several, with aging, lack of use, and muscular dystrophy being among the most often met. Other causes for atrophy include cachexia, denervation or iatrogenic injury.

Deltoid strains are among the most often met problems with this muscle. They can occur quite frequently and when they do, pain can be felt in the front of the shoulder. A quick way to see if your muscle has suffered a strain is by lifting your arm to the front while keeping it straight.

In case the muscle is torn, tenderness is a symptom while some swelling can also occur. In case of grave injuries, bruises can also appear. Rotator cuff strains are more common than deltoid strains and will mostly manifest the same symptoms.

The best way to keep your muscles trouble-free is to have a regular massage that loosens each muscles. As we always say, you do not need to request a service called Sports Massage, deep tissue massage or remedial massage at a massage clinic on the Gold Coast.

Instead, just explain the benefit you would like to achieve. All you have to say is, “I want to be loosened.” Then the therapist will come up with the feature for that requested benefit.

If you feel some pain in your shoulder and suspect it’s coming from your deltoid muscle, please click and visit www.remedialmassage-goldcoast.com.au and get a result you want by experiencing a sports massage on the Gold Coast.

Pain Relief Massage For Tibialis Anterior Muscle On The Gold Coast

I believe the tibialis anterior is one of the easiest muscles to see, find, feel, palpate and work on as it’s a surface muscle on the leg. At the Pain Relief Massage Clinic, we’ve found that this muscle tends to be tender to minor pressure whether the customer is a runner or not on the Gold Coast.

As you know, in general, healthy muscles are not tender to pressure. If it’s tender, the muscle needs some kind of treatment such as remedial massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage or what we call Pain Relief Massage on the Gold Coast.

The tibialis anterior muscle is one of the most often used muscles in the foot and certainly one of the more complex as well. It is formed in the upper part of the lateral surface of the tibia. It then inserts into the foot at the medial cuneiform as well as the first metatarsal. The tibialis anterior muscle is basically located near the shin and is used to dorsiflex or invert the foot.

It is formed from a thicker section on the superior part of the muscle as well as a thinner, more tendinous one on the lower part of the muscle. The muscle can be easily found on the lateral part of the tibia and one of its many functions is to overlap the anterior tibial vessels as well as the deep peroneal nerve which is located in the superior part of the leg.

The tibialis anterior muscle is first attached on the lateral condyle as well as the upper part of the tibia’s body. It also rises from a part of the interosseous membrane as well as a deeper part of the fascia’s surface; it also arises from the intermuscular septum.

The structure of the tibialis anterior makes its fibers quite fusiform with their position being parallel to the overall plane of the muscle on the insertion. These muscle fibers end in a tendon which is visible on the anteriomedial dorsal part of the foot close to the ankle.

As the muscle develops it passes though the medial compartments of the transverse as well as the cruciate crural ligaments. It ends by connecting to the medial and under surface of the medial cuneiform bone as well as the first metatarsal bone.

When it comes to the innervation of the tibialis anterior muscle it has a deep peroneal nerve which is a branch of the common peroneal nerve L4, L5 and S1.

One quite rare variation of this muscle is that a deep portion of it can be inserted into the talus or otherwise a tendinous slip may go to the head of the first metatarsal bone. It can also pass to the first phalanx of the great toe.

The tibialis anterior muscle is considered the most medial muscle in the anterior compartment of the leg with numerous connections to other muscles, tendons and bone. It allows the dorsiflexing movement and inversion of the foot. The muscle basically allows for the toe to be lifted and held in a fixed position.

It also allows the ankle to be inverted with horizontal movement being a direct repercussion. This horizontal movement is one of the most important bracing and cushioning aspects which protects the foot in case the ankle should ever be inverted.

The muscle is extremely important when it comes to basic human actions like walking or running, but it also plays an important role when climbing, kicking or other such activities which involve its movement or verticality of the leg. It helps lock the ankle when the foot touches the ground during walking or running and also plays a role when the foot is pulled back up. The tibialis anterior also locks the ankle when kicking certain objects.

When the tibialis anterior muscle is used (either by being contracted or stretched), the tibialis anterior tendon is placed under a considerable amount of tension. When the muscle is used to intensely or when there is a significant amount of repetition, the tendon can suffer damage. One of the most often met problems is called tibialis anterior tendonitis. The condition involves damage, inflammation and the degeneration of several parts of the muscle.

When it comes to identifying this condition or numerous other problems of the tibialis anterior muscle, it is important to note that people will feel some sort of pain at the front part of the shin or ankle whenever doing any activity that requires an amount of stress on the muscle. Activities like walking, hiking, playing sports that require kicking, kneeling or even wearing tight shoes can lead to pain in the shin or ankle due to tibialis anterior tendonitis.

Pain often appears gradually and increases as the condition is unaddressed. Pain doesn’t just come from activities that solicit the muscle; it can also come during the rest period after said activities or, in more severe cases, when the muscle’s tibialis anterior tendon is being firmly touched. Another less known cause for the condition is direct rubbing of the tibialis anterior muscle and tendon.

Other conditions that can affect the tibialis anterior muscle are ruptures or even paralysis of the muscle. Paralysis can be a repercussion of polio while ruptures can be easily diagnosed thorough the apparition of sharp pain in the muscle as well as problems coordinating the movement of the ankle.

Pain Relief For Tensor Fasciae Latae Muscle Related Issue With Remedial Massage On The Gold Coast

We usually call this long muscle with long name TFL. TFL is short for tensor fasciae latae. It’s a surface muscle and easy to be accessed by manual therapists such as remedial massage therapist. When our clients have a problem with this muscle, they tend to say they have pain symptom on their hip, lower back or leg. It tends to create constant ache and disturb their sleep.

It’s not difficult to get rid of this pain symptom if you find a good remedial massage therapist.

The tensor fasciae latae muscle is one of the key muscles when it comes to the balance and stability of the pelvis when standing, walking and even running. It is located in the thigh and is related to the gluteus maximus.

The muscle arises from iliac crest, more precisely from the anterior part of its outer lip. It also arises from the outer part of the anterior superior iliac spine as well as, in part, from the outer border of the notch below it.

The tensor fascia latae also arises from the deep surface of the fascia lata. This fascinating muscle is inserted between the two layers of the iliotibial band belonging to the fascia lata at the middle or upper part of the thigh. The muscle helps tense the iliotibial band while also bracing the knee. The final insertion is on the lateral condyle of the tibia.

The tensor fascia latae muscle has a very complex and interesting innervation system. It is mainly innervated by the superior gluteal nerve L5 and S1. The superior gluteal nerve exits the pelvis area by greater sciatic foramen superior towards the piriformis. The superior gluteal nerve is associated mostly with motor innervation and as such there is no innervation for sensation. It rises from the sacral plexus.

The main role of the tensor fascia latae is to help move the hip outward and forward. This flexor and abductor muscle also has a role in rotating the hip inward. Due to the numerous movements it is required to help perform, the tensor fascia latae is one of the quickest muscles to tighten up in this part of the body. While stretching exercises can help the muscle grow in length the muscle is often cited as a source for knee pain or lateral meniscus pain and other issues.

The fascia latae muscle’s fibers are placed in an oblique direction, allowing the muscle to stabilize the hip when it comes to extensions thus helping the gluteus maximus. The muscle is a tensor of the fascia lata which is basically a coat of fibers that surrounds the thigh binding all the muscle structure found there.

The fascia lata combines several tendons fom the gluteus maximus with the tensor fasciae latae on the lateral surface to make the iliotibial band. The iliotibial band stretches from the iliac crest to the lateral condyle of the tibia.

The tensor fascia latae as well as the fascia lata help steady several parts of the body, both in numerous positions. The pelvis is stabilized on the head of the femur thanks to the iliotibial band. The condyles of the femur are also stabilized on the articular surfaces of the tibia thanks to the fascia latae. The muscle also helps the gluteus maximus support the knee in an extended position.

The internal rotation of the tibia is also a movement which is helped by the tensor fascia latae muscle. The same muscle, along with the gluteus minimus and medius help abduct and rotate the femur.

The tensor fascia latae is a key muscle when it comes to walking correctly. It is heavily used for other activities as well. These include riding horses, bicycles or motorcycles as well as skiing. The muscle can sometimes be tightened or shortened and can thus cause a series of problems which result in pain to the hips, lower back as well as the knees.

The easiest way to determine any possible injury or affliction of the tensor fascia latae muscle is by raising the leg opposite to the suspected injury. The tensor fascia latae is immediately activated and tries to maintain balance thus showing any possible injury or weakness in the hip or knee. The most often met injury when pain is felt in the hip and knee is a tensor fascia latae strain.

When it comes to how the muscle produces pain, the first step is a longer period of tightening which can vary from individual to individual. Then, myofascial trigger points tend to appear which can have to do with pain in the hip, groin, buttocks or other parts of the leg.

A more serious contraction of the tensor fascia latae muscle will result in a strain on other muscles due to altered joint movement. Some of the most often met cases of this strain are in the gluteal or piriformis muscles. In this case pain is often felt in the groin, in the hip joint, around the outer hip, in the gluteal muscles, in the sacroiliac joint or in numerous other parts of the leg.

One important reason for problems and pain in the tensor fascia latae muscle is the femoris muscle, more precisely weakness in said muscle. This muscle along with the top quadriceps muscle and the front part of the thigh are a second flexor and can often become weak due to excessive tightening and lead to tensor fascia latae problems as well.

If you suspect an issue with your tensor fasciae latae muscles and want to be looked at by a Gold Coast remedial massage therapist, click and visit www.remedialmassage-goldcoast.com.au and discover more useful information.

Rhomboid Muscle Release For Upper Back Pain By A Remedial Massage On The Gold Coast

Both rhomboid major and rhomboid minor muscles are easy to access and it is not hard to treat them manually. Even when these muscles are covered by a thick layer of fat, it is not too hard to loosen and release them as rhomboid muscles are not very deeply situated.

The Rhomboid Minor

The rhomboid minor is a muscle that connects the scapula with the vertebrae that are in turn attached to the spinal column. It can be found behind the levator scapulae and the rhomboid major, located quite deep in relation to the trapezius but independent from the spinal muscles. Along with the rhomboid major it helps keep the scapula pressed tightly to the thoracic wall.

The rhomboid minor is inserted in the medial border of the scapula near the scapular spine. It starts from the inferior border of the nuchal ligament as well as from the supraspinous ligaments.

This muscle along with the closely related rhomboid major helps retract the scapula every time the trapezius muscle is contracted. The rhomboid minor and the rhomboid major work as an antagonist for the trapezius, with their main role being to stabilize the scapula by elevating the medial border.

The rhomboid minor’s nerves come from the dorsal scapular nerve, with the majority of nerve fibers coming from the C5 nerve root while only a few nerve fibers hail from the C4 and C6 nerve roots. The blood supply for this muscle comes mainly from the dorsal scapular artery.

The Rhomboid Major

The rhomboid major is described as a skeletal muscle with its main role being to connect the scapula with the spinal column’s vertebrae. It is closely related to the rhomboid minor and helps keep the scapula pressed tight to the thoracic wall. It also helps the scapula move inwardly towards the vertebral column.

This muscle comes from the spinous processes of the T2 through T5 thoracic vertebrae. It also starts from the supraspinous ligament. It connects to the medial border of the scapula starting with the scapular spine.

The muscle has a diamond shape and is located deep in relation to the trapezius, just inferior to the rhomboid minor. The rhomboid major, as the name would suggest, is the largest muscle of the rhomboids. In some cases the two rhomboids are connected and act as a single muscle.

The rhomboid major has nerves hailing from the ventral primary ramus along the C5 dorsal scapular nerve. Like the rhomboid minor, the major gets its blood supply from the dorsal scapular artery. The main function of the rhomboid major is to keep the scapula and in fact the entire upper part of the limb connected to the ribcage.

The rhomboid major, as well as the rhomboid minor also pull the scapula towards the vertebral column. The rhomboids allow the medial border of the scapula to be elevated, while also rotating the scapula downwardly.

When it comes to soreness or potential injury to the rhomboid major or minor, it can lead to limited movement in the upper extremity of the arm and shoulder and sometimes even extreme pain in the shoulder. Scapular instability is a direct consequence of rhomboid issues and it can in turn lead to scapular winging, excessive lateral rotation or even depression of the scapula due to the absent function of the rhomboid major.

Most people first notice problems for these two muscles as a pain in the side of the shoulder blade. While physical activity can be one of the major causes of this condition, it is office employees who most often report rhomboid major or minor muscle problems. This is because while working at a desk, the shoulders stay in a round position for prolonged periods of time. This position stretches the rhomboids and over time can cause them soreness or even more serious problems.

As far as trigger points are concerned, pain is most often felt either at the inner part of your shoulder blade or between the two. While they aren’t massive muscles the rhomboids have a huge importance for everyday tasks we take for granted such as walking or sitting up straight. As they adduct your arm and pull the shoulder blade in the direction of the spine, most movements that involve shoulders (walking, running, exercising, even writing) require these two muscles.

These two muscles can be overworked both actively and passively. Active stress comes from exercise, in particular sports like gymnastics where good form is a must, but it can also come from weightlifting or dancing. Active stress is generally found as a repercussion of forceful contractions, especially for the rhomboid major.

Passive stress comes from office work or any type of work where a round shoulder position is required for an extended period of time. This position elongates the muscles and can cause stress without proper management.

These muscles tend to provoke pain when at rest or when you lie on the stressed side of the body. Reaching your arm out can also provoke moderate pain.

At our Pain Relief Massage Clinic on the Gold Coast, it’s easy to get rid of upper back pain that originates from rhomboid muscles. All we need to do is loosen them, remove contraction knots and stretch them back to the normal length.

You can also perform a self-treatment by rolling on a tennis ball under your Rhomboid muscles while you lie on your back. But you will probably suffer a bad bruise the next day as a side effect due to too much pressure applied from your body weight.

Treating Subscapularis Muscle Symptoms With Remedial Massage On The Gold Coast

Massage therapists on the Gold Coast who perform remedial massage, sports massage and deep tissue massage often have to handle this hard-to-access muscle called subscapularis.

The subscapularis muscle is quite a large triangular muscle which can be found in the subscapular fossa and the lesser tubercle of the humerus. It also stretches across to the front part of the shoulder joint.

The structure of this muscle is quite complex combining a series of fibers that arise from different parts in the area. The muscle is formed from the medial two thirds and from the lower two thirds of the axillary border groove of the scapula.

Some fibers may also come from the tendinous laminae which go through the muscle, being attached to the edges of the bone structure. Other fibers can come from the aponeurosis which helps separate the muscle itself from the teres major and parts of the triceps brachii.

The fibers of the subscapularis move laterally and after uniting into a tendon join the lesser tubercle of the humerus as well as part of the shoulder joint capsule. A rather large bursa separates the neck of the scapula from the subscapularis tendon. A bursa also separates it from the serratus anterior. The lower and upper subscapular nerves as well as parts of the posterior cord of the brachial plexus provide the subscapularis with sufficient innervation.

The subscapularis muscle is the most powerful muscle of the rotator cuff. It helps the head of the humerus perform a medial internal rotation. In case the arm is placed in a raised position, the subscapularis helps draw the humerus both forward and downward. One of the main roles the subscapularis muscle has is that it prevents the displacement of the head of the humerus offering significant protection to the entire shoulder joint.

The subscapularis muscle is also one of the common parts of the body to overwork or injure as there can be quite significant repercussions in terms of temporary flexibility and movement loss as well as pain. The best way to identify an overworked subscapularis muscle is losing the ability to lift your arm or a frozen shoulder. This is a common condition for certain athletes such as gymnasts or rock climbers. This problem is also quite common for people who overdo their chest workout.

Trigger points can also be present in the subscapularis muscle. They can either produce pain directly in the muscle causing your whole rotator cuff or even shoulder to tense up or they can affect other parts of the body as well.

One of the most often affected parts of the body where subscapularis related pain can be felt is the shoulder blade as well as the back of the shoulder, directly above the armpit. In some severe cases, pain can even radiate down your arm and go as far as your elbow or even wrists.

The reason why overworking your chest can lead to subscapularis pain is that every chest exercise requires an inward rotation of the shoulder. While these movements stress the chest muscles, the same movements stress the subscapularis as well and can lead to overworking or even pain. The subscapularis also has to do extra “work” and stabilize your shoulder for all your complex exercises, particularly for intensive workout sessions.

Another reason for a sore or outright painful subscapularis is bad posture. Bad posture often leads to a rounded back and a crouched chest. This in turn leads to a position where the shoulders are constantly rotated inwardly. As a consequence of this shoulder position, the subscapularis muscle is kept in a shortened position tightening up and causing pain and discomfort.

Another way you can harm your subscapularis muscle is through traumas. One common trauma is slipping on the stairs while keeping your hand on the rail. This sudden movement causes the subscapularis to make an abduction movement, the opposite of its main role which is to make an adduction movement.

The simultaneous stretching and contracting of the muscle can often enough be too much to handle, particularly if your fall is quite severe or if you are overweight. It rarely leads to a tear in the muscle but can make the subscapularis muscle feel overstressed and painful.

When the subscapularis muscle is tender or painful some movements may be impaired. For example, raising your arm at an angle higher than 45° can be quite hard. Another impaired movement is reaching to your other shoulder or extending your arms outwardly. The reason your moves are restricted is that the tension in the muscle is high and would be even higher if it were elongated.

If you want to feel your muscle or check it for any possible trigger points or even tears you can do so by feeling with one arm into the opposite armpit and rotating your shoulder inwardly.

At Pain Relief Massage Clinic on the Gold Coast, we’ve found that Subscapularis muscle problem mimics symptoms of true frozen shoulder. True frozen shoulder is diagnosed as adhesive capsulitis and you would not be able to raise your arm if you suffered from this. When our clinic receives clients who claim that they suffer from frozen shoulder, our remedial massage therapist must distinguish subscapularis shortening from adhesive capsulitis by simple assessments and tests.

Assessing active flexion and active rotation will tell us the degree of immobility. Passive flexion and rotation, and palpation of subscapularis will be also performed. It’s hard to treat this muscle and it’s almost inaccessible. Clients tend to resist by tightening their muscles due to tenderness or tickling sensation or both.

If the cause of what a client calls frozen shoulder is found to be just subscapularis muscle shortening, simply loosening the muscle with remedial massage therapy may be enough to get rid of the symptom altogether. As this muscle is one of the deep tissue muscles, skilled techniques of deep tissue massage or sports massage is required.

Sports Massage On The Gold Coast For Gluteus Medius Muscle Problem

Many people visit our Pain Relief Massage Clinic here on the Gold Coast and bring their hip problems. They often complain of hip or buttock pain which can be constant ache or pain by motions or both. These pain and discomfort often come from gluteus medius muscle and treatment of this particular muscle is not very difficult. This muscle is easily accessible unless it’s covered by a thick layer of fat.

What we call sports massage or deep tissue massage can target the trouble spot of this tissue, get rid of the contraction knot and give customers a good pain relief they want instantly.

The muscle called gluteus medius is one of the gluteus muscles in the buttocks; this particular muscle is very strong and provides rotation of the thigh and supports the hips while walking. Gluteus Medius is attached to the leg at the top of the femur and is also quite close to the hip joint. The fibres of the gluteus medius become a strong tendon that goes on the lateral surface of the greater trochanter with a bursa that separates the tendon of the muscle from its surface.

A healthy gluteus medius promotes balanced and steady walking. In a neutral position the gluteus medius along with the gluteus minimus pulls the thigh away from the midline and when contracted they support the body, especially the pelvis, on one leg. If the muscle becomes injured or weak the knee would go inwards and create stress on the hip and the entire foot.

This causes a limp or abnormal walking, and both of them can be extremely difficult to manage and very painful. It can also cause a condition called trochanteric bursitis which is very painful and involves a great deal of medication, physiotherapy or sports massage to manage.

There are various types of strains related to the gluteus medius and they are linked to a condition called gluteus medius syndrome, which involves the inflammation of the hip and mild to serious pain. The strains that are grade 1 will cause pain but the tendon is not affected, however, if a person experiences a grade 2 type of strain, this will usually involve overstretched tissue or even a partially ruptured tissue.

In both these cases the function of the muscle might be decreased so those experiencing this condition should take the necessary precautions to avoid any strain on that particular muscle. The injuries themselves are caused by high intensity training, too frequent training or even a training session that is too long.

Depending on the type of activity you are doing, there are several ways to increase the risk to such an injury. People who play endurance sports such as distance running or race running are more prone to injure their gluteus medius muscle, especially if the body is not warmed enough for the specific activity.

On the other hand people with poor strength and flexibility are also prone to have this type of injury. There are also genetic factors that can contribute to some people being more at risk to injure their gluteus medius muscle such as legs that are extremely long or a poor alignment in the lower legs, such as a wide pelvis with knees that are too locked up.

The symptoms patients usually experience after an injury are numerous. The most common is pain with reduced function, especially when walking or running. There is also some tenderness to the outer hip along with swelling in some cases. Sometimes people might have some redness in the area where the injury occurred. Those who notice these signs should always make sure that they limit their movement as it may worsen their injury especially with hip movement. They should carefully be transported to a place where they can lie down.

In order to prevent injuries to your gluteus medius muscle, there are several things that need to be taken care of. For example, warming up and stretching well before any physical activity you do will surely lower your chances for any type of injury. Those who don’t engage in physical activity should make sure that they start some routine to avoid any injuries and maintain their physical strength. These should include both strength training and cardiovascular fitness.

For runners there are two important things that they need to remember: first, they need to use a good running technique and even consult an expert before going ahead with any type of running they might want to start; the second issue is shoes, as runners will need a good pair of shoes and if their legs are of different lengths they will need something called orthotics.

Treatment for injures of gluteus medius muscle include ice patches and anti-inflammatory medication as well as cortisone injections. Those who feel like their symptoms might be aggravated by a certain type of activity need to limit that activity and do more strengthening and stretching exercises to build their power.

Sports massage which is a type of deep tissue massage is also a great solution for those who experience pain or a limited range of motion as it will promote healing and will ease any type of discomfort a person may have after an injury. It is also a great way to warm up the muscle before strenuous exercise and it can even be a great way to make sure that a person with an old injury can alleviate some of the symptoms and prevent the condition from worsening with the passage of time.

A Sports Massage Gold Coast Can Offer For Infraspinatus Muscle Related Pain And Discomfort

The term “sports massage” does not really mean anything special. People who play sports tend to call this massage therapy “sports massage” as it’s almost essential for sports players. Sports massage is a synonym for deep tissue massage and it is obviously different from relaxation massage that just keeps rubbing the skin.

At the Pain Relief Massage Clinic on the Gold Coast, customers are not asked what type of massage they want. They are simply asked the purpose of their visit. From time to time, we see clients on the Gold Coast whose discomfort symptom originates from this infraspinatus muscle.

The infraspinatus muscle is located in the back of the shoulder blade as it extends outwards to attach the upper arm. Its main two functions are the stabilization of the joint located in the shoulder and the lateral rotation of the arm. Contracting this muscle will engage the rotation of the arm outwards, like for example when you move your hand to say goodbye.

When it comes to stabilizing the shoulder joint, the infraspinatus muscle contracts to keep the humerus from going out of its socket during the shoulder activity. Besides these two major roles, the infraspinatus muscle is also involved with other muscles in certain types of movement for common activities. For example it allows the lateral rotation of the arm along with the deltoid and the teres minor muscle.

Since this particular muscle is involved with common arm movement, a lot of people experience discomfort or even a great deal of pain that may involve it. There are three trigger points that are connected with the infraspinatus muscle and all make a triangle with the lower part of the muscle.

The pain that radiates from these particular muscles is usually debilitating and can go down from the shoulder joint along the upper arm. In some cases, the pain can be felt throughout the entire arm and hand. This usually happens when a person overuses this particular muscle or when they have a bad posture while working or during other prolonged physical activities.

For example, if someone has to keep their arm raised for a prolonged time or during activities that may involve this type of movement such as: baseball, football, working at the computer, driving, etc. Usually people who have overused these muscles will have certain symptoms that show the gravity of their injury.

The most common symptom is pain located in the front part of the shoulder; the pain usually feels like it is actually the joint which is injured and can be either mild or even extremely intensive in more serious injuries. Usually this type of pain goes hand in hand with a limited range of motion; in this case, the person is unable to reach with their hand behind their back. This is usually due to the stretching and rotating of the muscle, which ultimately leads to pain in this particular trigger point.

Along with this particular type of pain, those with an injured infraspinatus muscle might also feel pain during the night, especially if they sleep on their side. The weight of their body can press on the trigger points from their muscles and cause pain during sleep. In extreme cases people might end up sleeping in a sitting position due to the pain caused by any sleeping position.

Another common symptom when it comes to an injured infraspinatus muscle is the difficulty or even inability to lift the arm to the head and some people might even have issues with eating or brushing their hair. This can be quite debilitating as it interferes with day to day activities as pain will be triggered even with light activity.

Those who are training with weights might injure their muscle during their first sessions. Exercises like bench presses, lifting weights or military presses are quite difficult on the infraspinatus muscle. Another group of people affected by the infraspinatus muscle pain are baseball players, tennis players, football quarterbacks and basically any players that use their hands to play.

Some of them might also suffer from a condition called bicepital tendonitis that makes the biceps area tender. The infraspinatus trigger points are usually to blame for the pain caused in this particular condition so most patients with biceptal tendonitis usually undergo treatment for infraspinatus muscle pain.

Treatment for infraspinatus muscle pain and discomfort is usually simple as it involves a series of natural remedies such as sports massage and exercise. Patients usually undergo a few sessions of sports massage for the trigger points along with prescribed anti-inflammatory pills and mild analgesics. Some might even be advised to do yoga or other type of light exercise while avoiding any muscle strain due to posture. However, it is advised to avoid any intensive activity while the muscle heals.

Those who choose to undergo sports massage will usually see results immediately as the massage helps relieve the pain caused by the muscle’s trigger points. Sports massage can also be used as a single method to treat this particular condition and it is often preferred by patients who don’t want to take pain killers or undergo other types of chemical treatments.

In addition to sports massage, people can also limit their exposure to stressors and strenuous activity in order to avoid any flare ups. Another important aspect of sports massage is the fact that it also relieves pain and stress which can be detrimental to a person’s mental health during a challenging physical condition.

If you suspect your pain symptom might be coming from your infraspinatus muscle and would like to try sports massage on the Gold Coast, click and visit www.remedialmassage-goldcoast.com.au and see who we are.

A Deep Tissue Massage Gold Coast Offers For Soleus Muscle Problem

The soleus muscle, with its name derived from the Latin word “solea”, which means sandal, is one of the more powerful muscles in your body, located in the lower leg in the calf area. The soleus starts from below the knee to the heel and it is connected with the gastrocnemius muscle. Some consider it to be part of a single muscle in the calf, called the triceps surae, while others consider it to be a standalone muscle.

The role of the soleus muscle is to be the plantar flexor at the ankle joint and it’s involved in walking and standing. With the help of this muscle, which forms the Achilles tendon, humans and mammals can apply a great deal of force through the ankle. For example, the muscle is used when a person pushes off the ground while walking or standing on their toes, which are the basic ways in which to exercise this particular muscle.

Other activities that engage the soleus muscle are running or dancing as well as preventing the body from falling forward. Besides that, it helps pump blood from the feet to the heart.

Here at Pain Relief Massage Clinic on the Gold Coast, a lot of runners visit us regularly. Smart runners know that having a deep tissue massage or sports massage regularly is the only way to prevent unexpected leg injury. Asking for deep tissue massage when their muscles are in trouble is a wise thing to do, but having this massage treatment regularly is a lot wiser. Tearing calf muscles badly due to a lack of muscle maintenance is not uncommon and the consequence for that can last for the rest of the runner’s life on the Gold Coast.

One of the most common injuries in this area are strains which usually involve the soleus muscle alone or the soleus muscle and another muscle; strains in this area often include the tearing of these muscles and causes pain in the lower part of the leg. During the contraction of the calf, the tension is placed through this muscle and when the muscle experiences too much tension or a lot of repetition, the muscle can be strained or even torn.

Usually, calf strains involve more superficial lessions but when the lesion is deep they can end up injuring the soleus muscle. There are several types of calf strains and usually specialists assign grades from 1 to 3 in order to classify them. The first grade includes a small number of torn fibers with some pain, however the calf has a full function; the second grade involves moderate loss of function with a significant amount of pain; and the third grade involves an extreme amount of pain with significant loss of function as well as the most of the muscle fibers being ruptured.

The reasons for calf strain, no matter what grade, are usually various. For example one of the most common is when the muscle is gradually worn out by overuse. This type of wear and tear usually happens when people engage long term in strenuous activities such as running or walking uphill. Another common way to strain the soleus muscle is by stretching it too much; this usually means having an accident while being in a certain position, for example a forced forward position. A lot of athletes experience calf strains especially if they are involved in sports like football, tennis or squash.

In the first moments after the accident that produces a calf strain, the person might feel a sharp pain in their muscle as well as a sort of tightening. People who experience this should immediately stop whatever they are doing and seek a place to rest. After a couple of minutes to an hour they might experience swelling as well as muscle spans and weakness. In the most severe cases people might also walk with a limp and experience a great deal of pain when using the affected leg.

It is recommended to avoid all activities and make sure that you get plenty of rest afterwards. When the calf is almost healed people can resume their physical activity routine but they will have to make sure that they incorporate lighter exercise for a while, until the strain is completely healed.

With the help of a physician in the most severe cases, people can recover in a couple of months. For cases that are milder people might even be able to resume their normal activity in a few weeks. However, if the muscle is completely torn, some people might need surgery as well as a rehabilitation program in order to fully recover their leg and might even end up returning to their normal activities in a few months or even longer.

To aid in the process of healing, medical doctors on the Gold Coast may recommend taking anti-inflammatory medication, doing light exercise as well as getting some deep tissue massage or sports massage. These therapeutic massage treatments are great ways to help the tissue heal as well as make sure that you avoid future accidents by keeping the muscle in the best shape possible.

Deep tissue massage will have to be regular in the most severe cases but for those who are just experiencing a minor strain, a few sessions of deep tissue massage or sports massage can show great results and almost immediate relief when it comes to pain. By adding deep tissue massage in your routine you can avoid future side effects that come with such an accident: such as calf weakness, fatigue, poor balance, decreased fitness, etc.
